Quantitative Assessment of the Effects of Climate Change and Human Activities on Grassland NPP in Altay Prefecture

Grassland degradation in Altay Prefecture is of considerable concern as it a threat that hinders the sustainable development local economy and stable operation livestock industry. Quantitative assessment relative contributions climate change human activities, which are considered dominant triggers grassland degradation, to variation crucial for understanding mechanism mitigating degraded Prefecture. In this paper, Carnegie-Ames-Stanford Approach model Thornthwaite memorial were adopted simulate actual net primary productivity (NPPA) potential (NPPP) from 2000 2019. Meanwhile, difference between NPP was employed reflect effects activities (NPPH) on grassland. On basis, we validated viability simulated using Pearson correlation coefficient, investigated spatiotemporal variability productivity, established comprehensive scenarios quantitatively assess roles prefecture. The results indicate three main points. (1) NPPA highly consistent with MOD17A3 dataset spatial distribution. (2) Regions an increased accounted 70.53% total grassland, whereas 29.47% area experienced decrease. At temporal scale, presented slightly increasing trend (0.83 g C m–2 yr–1) over study period, while trends NPPP NPPH reduced (–1.31 –2.15 yr–1).
